1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Service, and limited technical information from your device and browser.
Information you provide
- Account details: name, email address, password (stored by our authentication provider in hashed form), and profile preferences.
- Product Hunt inputs: business model, selling platform, target market, niche, budget, experience level, and related wizard preferences used to generate recommendations.
- Saved content: products you save, compare, or analyze; hunt session history; workspace and notification preferences.
- Billing information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: messages you send through our contact form or support channels.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, AI request types, timestamps, and interaction events within the Service.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and diagnostic logs used for security and reliability.
- AI processing metadata: model usage metrics, latency, cache status, and quality signals associated with AI-generated outputs.
2. How we use your information
We use collected information to operate, improve, and secure the Service, including to:
- Provide AI product research, scoring, comparison, and related ecommerce intelligence features.
- Authenticate users, manage accounts, and enforce plan limits and rate limits.
- Process subscriptions and billing through our payment provider.
- Personalize recommendations based on your stated preferences and usage patterns.
- Maintain our Product Intelligence Database (PID) to improve relevance over time.
- Monitor performance, debug errors, prevent abuse, and protect against fraud.
- Respond to support requests and communicate service-related updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your private hunt data to train public third-party foundation models without a separate, explicit agreement.
3. Authentication
Sellineor uses Firebase Authentication to create and manage user accounts. When you sign up or sign in, Firebase processes your credentials and issues secure session tokens used to access protected API routes.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support.sellineor@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
5. Analytics
We may use first-party analytics and operational logging to understand how the Service is used, measure feature adoption, and improve performance. Analytics data is generally aggregated or pseudonymized and may include page views, feature usage counts, error rates, and AI operation metrics.
We may also maintain internal cost and usage logs tied to your account for billing, quota enforcement, and abuse prevention. These logs are not used for third-party advertising profiles.
6. Third-party services and APIs
To deliver market intelligence and AI features, Sellineor integrates with third-party services. When you use features that rely on these integrations, relevant query data (such as niche keywords, market, or platform preferences) may be transmitted to providers solely to fulfill your request.
Current and planned integrations include:
- OpenAI: processes prompts and context to generate product opportunities, analyses, comparisons, marketing angles, and related AI outputs. OpenAI's use of data is governed by their terms and your configuration with us.
- Google Trends: we retrieve search interest and trend signals via Google Trends data sources and/or authorized third-party trend APIs (such as SerpAPI) to inform market intelligence scores.
- YouTube Data API: where configured, we may query public YouTube metadata and search results to assess content trends, review coverage, and demand signals related to product niches.
- Pinterest API: where configured, we may access public or authorized Pinterest data to evaluate visual discovery trends and category momentum.
- Ecommerce and market data providers: we may integrate additional sources such as Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, TikTok, Reddit, Google Search, and similar platforms to enrich competition, pricing, and demand signals.
- Firebase (Google): authentication, database, and hosting infrastructure.
- Stripe: subscription billing and payment processing.
Each third-party provider processes data under its own privacy policy. We select providers with reasonable security practices and limit the data shared to what is necessary for the requested feature. API credentials are stored server-side and are never exposed to client applications.
7. Data storage and retention
Account data, hunt history, saved products, usage records, and Product Intelligence Database entries are stored in cloud infrastructure, primarily Google Firebase / Firestore, in regions selected for our deployment.
Some caches and operational data may be held in ephemeral server memory for performance and are not intended for long-term retention. We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data subject to applicable law and legitimate retention requirements (for example, billing records).
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), Firebase security rules, server-side API key protection, authentication on AI and billing routes, rate limiting, input sanitization, and access controls on administrative functions.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk and should use a strong, unique password.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing.
- Access and correction: update account details in Settings or contact us for assistance.
- Deletion: request account deletion by contacting support.sellineor@gmail.com.
- Marketing: we do not send unsolicited third-party marketing using your hunt data. Service announcements may still be sent regarding your account.
- Complaints: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority where applicable.
We will verify requests before responding and aim to reply within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support.sellineor@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date (July 5, 2026). Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
For significant changes affecting how we process personal data, we may provide additional notice through the Service or by email where appropriate.
